CONTROLLER ASSISTANT

Based in Montreal and under the direction of the Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for supporting the general accounting of the company while supporting customer departments and management at the levels of accounting, budgets, control and finances. It will provide accounting control, financial monitoring and reliability of accounting and financial information for the entire company. He will also be responsible for provinding office and administration support.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements
  • Perform all required tasks related to the end-of-month process including bank reconciliations, amortization and journal entries
  • Prepare monthly tax and compliance reports
  • Support the controller in the day-to-day management of the different operational functions of the finance department
  • Collaborate with external auditors during end-of-year audits
  • Produce and create reports for internal analysis
  • Supervise a team of accounting technicians
  • Track the collection performance of receivables
  • Supervise the process of purchases and payments
  • Participate in the optimization of administrative processes

Education and experience

  • CPA Certification
  • Five (5) years of experience in a similar role
  • Bilingualism French / English (80% of the role is in English)

Skills

  • Analyzing and synthesizing skills, combined with the ability to write reports
  • Customer orientation
  • Know how to plan and manage priorities
  • Sense of organization, planning and attention to detail
